Things I Am Liking

Things I Am Liking

When life is busy it's harder to sit down and write the things I like: a new chocolate bar, or a podcast, a new fragrance and less social media are among them.

Hi,

I know it’s been a while since I have written about the things I am liking; these past few weeks have been busy, strange, intense. Catherine’s last week of school was filled with so many performances, events, moments not to be missed, that it felt like 365 days tightly fit into 7.

When the schedule is hectic, I find it harder to pause and notice the things I am liking, but today I was able to take a moment and write down what has been making me happy.

I can’t wait to hear about yours!

  • The Rumble Strip Podcast by Erica Heilman

During our drive back from the Dharmata Temple, in Richmond, CA, Tessa and I talked about softness, compassion, empathy, openness.

She had recommended this beautiful podcast months ago, but I think I wasn’t ready to listen, back then, as we sat for coffee in Silver Lake, a neighborhood not far from the one where we both live. The coffee was strong, as so was the protective around my feelings and opinions.

On this occasion, however, as the sky got darker and darker, over a dusty Interstate 5 flooded with field mice, Tessa asked me if I wanted to listen to an episode called Finn and The Bell.
