I love reading your writing Alice ❤️ I love your descriptive words “ the rays of sun shone down hitting the long grass by the side of the freeway just in the right spot to make it look like limber silver strings that blew along with the strong winds.” I love your awareness noticing the colors and what you feel. I love your true authentic self. You are beautiful inside and out! I learn so much from you. I truly believe people cross our paths in different seasons of our lives for us to learn lessons, and are there for what we need in that time in our life 💖 this is how we grow, change and evolve. Love you 🥰

Alice, I keep noticing your awareness of the subtleties in life, and value they bring.

So much going on this month. Yet, you take time to breathe and be aware of your surroundings.

I mentioned in class that I’m working on not trying to control so tightly what happens in my parents’ lives. So your thoughts about softening the hard edges really resonates with me.

It’s tough to let go and be soft. I think my actions come from a place of love, and I guess in a way, they do. But when I let go and things work out, and everyone is happy and relaxed, including me, I realize my actions that are based in love can work to the opposite effect of love.

Thank you for your writing. Keep searching and telling us about it. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my own search.

So beautiful, Alice. This moved me to tears multiple times as I was reading…. I’m not even completely sure why, but it clearly brought up so many emotions that want my attention! Ahhhh Alice, it sounds like a beautiful retreat. You mentioned Livermore, my daughter lives not to far from there, she is in Walnut Creek but her horse is at a stable in Livermore. She rides several days during the week and competes in Dressage too. From what i recall there is beautiful farms. Her boyfriend and his family are from Berkeley as well. I am so happy you were able to get away and experience all that you did.

As for the concert, reading this just almost brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t imagine how special that must of felt. It just goes to prove how many hearts you and Ben have touched over the years. Reading all of this really gave me a better perspective. I didn’t mention it on our class, but it was 3 years to the date i was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am so blessed to be part of this beautiful community, you all got me thru some of the most difficult days of my life.

Love,

Eileen xo

Eileen, Richmond is much closer to Walnut Creek, as opposed to Livermore. It’s more north bay and Walnut Creek is south of there near the Bay Area. I think you’ve been out here to see your daughter right? I think they are about 1 hr apart give or take. I haven’t driven over there in ages.

Next time you come out this way let me know, maybe we could meet for lunch or something.

Oh Susan i would love that! I have been to her stable where her horse is….it was of a bit of a drive for her, like 40 minutes from Walnut Creek. She is very picky where she has her horse, this was a beautiful stable and affordable. She also said , it is hard to find a good dressage trainer and she found a good trainer for her lessons there. I would absolutely love to meet up next time i come to visit her. I also love her town too! She has a beautiful condo in Walnut Creek

Maybe we could meet somewhere in SF. Walnut Creek is pretty far for me to drive to, maybe 4hrs one way. SF is 3.. anyway, let me know ahead of time and we can work out the details.
